Raga Erhu
Collaboration with dancer/choreographer Shane Shambhu and musician Ling Peng.This is a small clip from the full 20 minute piece shown at USHER GALLERY Lincoln and TATE BRITAIN London.
Performed by two British born bodies, this piece examines rhythm structures, rituals and visual signifiers from Indian culture. However classically trained in China, Ling's voice and Erhu provide an emotive element which aims to shift the dialogue away from the troublesome binary of British and Indian.
In addition to the intercultural conversations taking place, the artists are interested in the meeting points and cross-overs between art, music and dance.
